Snapper® Announces New Snow Thrower with Innovative Serrated Auger

MILWAUKEE (March 12, 2014) – With record-setting snowfall across the nation this winter, homeowners looking to easily clear heavy-compacted snow and ice will find a perfect fit in the high-performance Snapper® Single-Stage Snow Thrower with a new, breakthrough SnowShredder™ serrated auger.

“Snapper® customers are looking for products which are easy-to-use and easy-to-own. This new single-stage snow thrower responds to these needs by providing the best of both the single- and 2-stage worlds,” said Troy Blewett, Director of Dealer Channel Marketing for Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group. “Unlike single-stage units that only clear light snowfall, or dual-stage snow throwers that can be difficult to maneuver, the Snapper® Single-Stage Snow Thrower with the patented SnowShredder™ serrated auger does it all, quickly powering through tough ice and heavy, compacted snow with ease.”

The patented SnowShredder™ auger system combines 14 welded, serrated steel blades with reinforced rubber paddles to efficiently chop, grind and clear compacted snow, ice and end-of-driveway snow build-up, while the self-propelled drive system quickly clears down to the pavement and moves the snow thrower forward effortlessly.

Easy-to-use electric chute rotation control quickly and accurately directs snow where you want it with a simple push of a button. An ergonomically designed handlebar provides enhanced operating comfort while easy-to-use controls improve the compact snow thrower with better maneuverability.

The highest-end model of the new Snapper® Single-Stage Snow Thrower features the 250cc Briggs & Stratton engine – the largest engine in its class – providing significant engine torque for more snow clearing power. Push-button electric start provides quick starts on cold winter days – down to -20 F – and if it doesn’t start within two electric start attempts, Briggs & Stratton will fix it for free1. The entire snow thrower is also backed up by a generous three-year limited warranty2.
